Rebel Prince Radio returns, with “A Glimpse” by Walt Whitman.

A glimpse, through an interstice caught,
Of a crowd of workmen and drivers in a bar-room, around the stove, late of a winter night—And I unremark’d seated in a corner;
Of a youth who loves me, and whom I love, silently approaching, and seating himself near, that he may hold me by the hand;
A long while, amid the noises of coming and going—of drinking and oath and smutty jest,
There we two, content, happy in being together, speaking little, perhaps not a word.

And now, in two parts:

Jeff? Remember my extreme reaction to your little rose gesture, when I decided I wanted to marry you? Yeah, hearing your radio entries just intensified that. Watch out. 😉

[Jeff says: Forget the reality shows, folks! It’s “Meet My Rebel Prince”!]

Wow! As Simon Cowell would say, “It’s all about song selection.” Except, come to think of it, he’d be wrong! Ah, the commentary, the poetry, the music, the Jeffiness—it’s the whole samosa.

P.S. Now that I think about it, Simon Cowell would most likely say, “Sod off, you ****ing git.” But that’s probably just because he’s mean and has issues about looking like a hairy turnip.
P.P.S. What exactly is a git?

[Jeff replies: Ha. Rajani, according to Merriam-Webster, “git” is British slang for “a foolish or worthless person.”]

Holy cow Jeffy! I just got around to listening to Rebel Prince radio and I LOVE it! You are ready for your own full length show! You’ve got that NPR voice rhythm down pat.
