Last night on the way home, I stopped to browse at H&M downtown, and found the blue shirt I’ve been looking for. I was so happy. ‘Cause you know I’m obsessed with owning any given piece of clothing in multiple colors. If something fits well, I have to have it in every color available. (Okay, not always, but you get the idea.) When I got home, I told Thom, “I went to H&M, and eureka!” He didn’t miss a beat: “You found the blue shirt?” Bingo. I’m wearing it today. It makes me feel all glamorous, like I’m an editor for, say, Wallpaper or L’Uomo Vogue, and not a dry academic publication… for which I actually am. As Ellen says she’s trying to bring glamor back to daytime television, I suppose I’m trying to bring glamor back to statistical research. Umm, if it ever existed.
Speaking of magazines, do check out the Dec. issue of Vanity Fair. There are a couple of pretty pictures of the casts of Will & Grace, Queer As Folk, Queer Eye, et al., all mixed up, sultry and draped over each other. Yum.
Another item for the virtual wishlist: a new bag. This morning on the bus, Thom and I noticed a pair of guys standing in front of us, each of whom had a cool messenger bag–though I suppose the term “messenger bag” belies their swankness. One was Victorinox (Swiss Army) and the other was Kenneth Cole, which, well, I simply must have. Black leather, slightly textured. Must have. (Okay, we wanted the guy, as well.)

Did you happen to catch the cast of “Will and Grace” on Inside the Actors Studio this past weekend? It wasn’t on during a tivo-convenient time so I haven’t grabbed it yet. Just thought you might have.
Since you’re at least a season ahead, I figure you’re the man in the know: what happened to Rai, the Culture guru on QEftSG? Not that the replacement is to be disparaged in any way, but I didn’t think Rai was getting enough work, and wondered if that had anything to do with it? BTW: the Australian edition is casting and calling for girlfriends to dob in their slobs. But it’s so gay-friendly here (except for John Howard’s stance on marriage) and so . . . casual . . . I wonder if it will go well. Probably they’ll have to put it in Melbourne.
Woah… Jai’s gone? Man, I haven’t seen that show in so long. Curse college and its no-cable-ness!
But yes, that VF spread is just dripping with gorgeousness. I love it!
Sus: yes, I did see the W&G cast (and creators too!) on Inside the Actors Studio. There were some pretty funny and insightful moments–especially when James Lipton had them answer questions as their characters–but I have to say, I’m not such a fan of the show. Actors Studio, that is. It can be very random. I’m more of a Charlie Rose person. (According to the archive, the W&G cast were gathered at Charlie’s table back in 2000.)
Greg and Stephen: Wait, do you mean Jai? He’s still on the show. It was Blair who was in a couple of early episodes as culture vulture, then was quietly replaced by Jai.
The new season of QEFTSG premiered Tuesday and Jai was indeed there. He’s still my favourite even though on this past episode he didn’t have much to do.
Ahh Jeff, here’s where we differ – I love Actors Studio, I enjoy watching Lipton ask those ‘stalkeresque’ questions and the actors looking scared.
I have to admit I’ve only seen Charlie Rose once, but it couldn’t hold my attention despite the guest being my favourite, Edward Norton.
